Mission Statement

The Salem-Keizer Education Foundation is a catalyst for enhancing the education of Salem-Keizer public school students by providing resources for creative and innovative programs and materials, educating and mobilizing the community, and sustaining collaborative partnerships that support its goals.

Value Statements

The Salem Keizer Education Foundation (SKEF) Board has identified five values core to what we do and how we conduct our business. The SKEF exists to support the students and employees of the Salem Keizer School District with:

Integrity – We maintain the highest level of individual and organizational integrity. The Board is committed to doing the right thing for all students in the Salem-Keizer District. Decisions are driven by our mission and guided by data to support the best outcome for the Foundation and students. We strive to provide resources and support that are relevant and intentionally focused on the district’s strategic plan. We conduct all business in an upright and professional manner, being the best community partner possible.

Leadership – The SKEF Board is passionate about the work afforded by our mission. We are inspired by and dedicated to district students We work to provide innovative resources to educators and students.

Student achievement – The SKEF Board is committed to student achievement. We are education-centered, with the goal of enhancing the district culture of teaching and learning.

Spirit of Community - The Foundation exists to support the SK District. We strive to provide additional classroom resources and support to all staff, bringing essential learning tools to students. We take pride in strong community relationships and partnerships. We are collaborative in all our endeavors.

Stewardship – As stewards of the community’s trust, we are accountable in action and attitude for the resources we are entrusted with. We earn the community’s goodwill by taking emotional and good care of these assets. We make decisions that are financially responsible and sustainable.
